Feeder Cattle Auction Report for 10/12/2016

Receipts: 6,002     Week ago:   4,779    Year ago: 8,150

    Compared to last week, Feeder steers sold 6.00-10.00 lower. Feeder heifers 1.00-3.00 lower. Weaned steer and heifer calves traded mostly steady, unweaned fleshy calves sold with a sharply lower undertone. Demand light to moderate. Quality average to attractive. A cold front swept across the trade area and cooler temps and rain is expected for the next few days. Feeder supply included 59 percent Steers, 1 percent Holstein Steers, 37 percent Heifers, and 3 percent Bulls. Feeder Supply over 600 lbs was 69 percent.

   Feeder Steers: Medium and Large 1: pkg 335 fancy 163.00; pkg 385 lbs 160.00400-450 lbs 142.50-151.00; pkg 470 lbs 139.00; 500-600 lbs 120.00-135.00, fleshy 117.00; 600-700 lbs 110.00-125.00; Yearlings: 600-700 lbs 124.00-127.50; 700-800 lbs 122.00-128.00; 800-900 lbs 118.00-125.00, fleshy 117.50; pkg 980 lbs 111.00.   
   Medium and Large 1-2: 400-435 lbs 142.00; 550-580 lbs 116.00-124.00, thin fleshed 125.00; pkg 665 lbs 125.50; 700-800 lbs 118.50-125.00; 800-900 lbs 114.00-119.50; 900-950 lbs 110.50-113.50.
   Medium and Large 2: 400-450 lbs 110.00-120.00; pkg 575 lbs 108.50; 835-900 lbs 109.00-110.00.

   Feeder Holsteins: pkg 205 lbs 115.00; pkg 880 lbs 63.00.

   Feeder Heifers: Medium and Large 1: pkg 305 lbs 145.00; 405-500 lbs 119.00-131.00, 112.50-117.00; 500-575 lbs 115.00-127.50, fleshy 102.00-105.00; 600-700 lbs 105.00-118.50; Yearlings: 600-700 lbs 120.00-126.00; 700-800 lbs 115.50-124.25.
