Feeder Cattle Auction Report for 10/17/2016

Actual Receipts: 5,934    Week ago: 4,646    Year ago: 9,966

   Compared to last week: Feeder steers and heifers continue lightly tested, few sales steady to 3.00 lower. Steer calves steady to 2.00 higher. Heifer calvessteady. Unweaned calves 10.00 lower. Demand moderate for all classes except fleshy,unweaned calves, these seld to light demand. Quality average to attractive. Summerweather is still hanging around with temperatures expected to hit 90 locally, northwestern Oklahoma and the panhandle expected to reach 100. Huge temperature swings still a reason for the light demand for unweaned calves, along with the bearish attitude in the market Feeder supply included 59 percent Steers, 0 percent Holstein Steers, 37 percent Heifers, and 4 percent Bulls. Feeder Supply over 600 lbs was 62 percent.
