Feeder Cattle Auction Report for 12/12/2016

Receipts: 7,448    Week ago:    9,376    Year ago: 4,500

Compared to last week, steer calves under 450 lbs steady, over 450 lbs 3.00 to 7.00 higher, heifer calves and yearlings steady to 2.00 higher. Demand moderate to good, supply heavy. Fed Cattle trade was 5.00 lower last week, but Live Cattle and Feeder Cattle futures closed with strong positive gains after closing lower last Friday. Feeder supply included 50 percent Steers, 0 percent Holstein Steers, 43 percent Heifers, and 8 percent Bulls. Feeder Supply over 600 lbs was 42 percent.
