Grant, Garfield and Alfalfa Counties Top USDA's Oklahoma Wheat County Estimates Report for 2016

Combines have long since exited the fields on the 2016 Oklahoma wheat harvest. However, the end of the year offers an opportunity to reflect on that harvest, not only statewide, but regionally and county-by-county.
The United States Department of Agriculture's (USDA) National Agricultural Statistics Service (NASS) has published the 2016 Oklahoma Wheat County Estimates.
Ten counties topping the list include Grant Co., 11,125,000 bu.; Garfield Co., 9,455,000 bu.; Alfalfa Co., 8,450,000 bu.; Texas Co., 7,790,000 bu.; Washita Co., 7,260,000 bu.; Kingfisher Co., 6,978,000 bu.; Custer Co., 6,530,000 bu.; Woods Co., 6,170,000 bu.; Kiowa Co., 6,030,000 bu.; and Kay Co., 5,620,000 bu.
