Oklahoma Farm Bureau President Calls Scott Pruitt "The Right Guy at the Right Time" to be Administrator at EPA

Tue, 27 Dec 2016 21:52:31 CST

Oklahoma Farm Bureau President Calls Scott Pruitt Oklahoma Farm Bureau President Tom Buchanan continues to rave about the selection of Scott Pruitt by President Elect Donald Trump to be his nominee for the position of Administrator for the Environmental Protection Agency. Right after the announcement, Buchanan and the Oklahoma Farm Bureau issued the following statement:

"Oklahoma Farm Bureau congratulates Oklahoma Attorney General Scott Pruitt on being named administrator of the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency under the Donald Trump administration.

"Pruitt's selection as EPA administrator is a win for farmers and ranchers across the country. As Oklahoma attorney general, Pruitt has been a staunch advocate of agriculture and Oklahoma Farm Bureau. He continuously has defended farmers and ranchers against the EPA and has led the charge in suing the agency over its burdensome regulations such as the Waters of the United States rule and the Clean Power Plan.

"We are confident Pruitt will restore the EPA to its constitutional role, allowing farmers and ranchers to freely produce the safest, most abundant and most affordable food supply in the world."

This past week, Radio Oklahoma Farm Director Ron Hays sat down with Buchanan and he elaborated on his support of the Oklahoma Attorney General to be the next boss at EPA. "We believe in the man greatly" adding that he has talked with other State Farm Bureau Presidents from across the US in the last few weeks- assuring them that Scott Pruuitt will be a friend to the farmers and ranchers Farm Bureau represents.

Buchanan says he has told his counterparts in other states "we know what we have had in Gina McCarthy in the overreach and the overburdensome regulatory authority coming out of EPA and we believe that will change and will change for the better."

Buchanan says that Pruitt will be "land use friendly" and says that "I think Scott Pruitt is the right guy at the right time and look forward to supporting him."
