Feeder Cattle Auction Report for 1/18/2017

Receipts: 5,684    Week ago:    13,319    Year ago: 6,228

Compared to last week: Feeder steers and heifers traded fully steady. Steer and heifer calves mostly 2.00-5.00 higher. Demand moderate for feeder cattle good for cattle suited for wheat pasture. Trade average to active. Strong winter storms including ice and multiple days of rain hampered livestock movement.      ***Beginning 2-28-17 the OKC West Livestock Auction will change it's sale schedule cows and bulls Monday at 10:00; calves and stockers Tuesday at 9:00 and Wednesday feeders at 9:00.*** Feeder supply included 54 percent Steers, 46 percent Heifers, and 1 percent Bulls. Feeder Supply over 600 lbs was 68 percent.
