Oklahoma Secretary of Ag Jim Reese in Leadership Role for National Association of State Departments of Agriculture

National Association of State Departments of Agriculture (NASDA) President and Louisiana Commissioner of Agriculture and Forestry Mike Strain, D.V.M. has appointed committee leadership for 2017. NASDA has six standing policy committees which drive policy development for the entire organization. Committee leadership for NASDA's policy committees will lead policy discussions on critical issues facing our incoming administration at our upcoming Winter Policy Conference, January 30-February 1, in Washington, DC.
"A new president, new administration, and new Congress will provide us with huge opportunities to amplify NASDA's unique voice over the next year," said Strain. "The regional and experiential diversity found amongst our chairs is critical to our strategic initiative to increase impact and influence through our strategic plan. I look forward to working with my committee chairs to fully realize the impact NASDA can have on agriculture policymaking in our nation's capital."
Oklahoma Secretary of Agriculture Jim Reese and Washington Director of Agriculture Derek Sandison have been appointed as Chair and Vice Chair respectively of the Marketing and International Trade Committee.
Nevada Director of Agriculture Jim Barbee and Alabama Commissioner of Agriculture John McMillan have been appointed as Chair and Vice Chair respectively of the Animal Agriculture Committee.
New York Commissioner of Agriculture Richard Ball and Hawaii Chairman of Agriculture Scott Enright have been appointed to serve as Chair and Vice Chair respectively of the Food Regulation Committee.
Wyoming Director of Agriculture Doug Miyamoto and Virginia Commissioner of Agriculture Sandy Adams will continue to lead the Natural Resources and Environment Committee.
Indiana Director of Agriculture Ted McKinney and Pennsylvania Secretary of Agriculture Russell Redding will continue to lead the Plant Agriculture and Pesticide Regulation Committee.
South Carolina Commissioner of Agriculture Hugh Weathers and New Hampshire Commissioner of Agriculture Lorraine Merrill will continue to lead the Rural Development and Financial Security Committee.
