Feeder Cattle Auction Report for 02/13/2017

   Actual Receipts: 8,286     Last Week: 6,501    Year ago: 7,859

   Compared to last week: Feeder steers sold 1.00-5.00 higher. Feeder heifers under 700 lbs 1.00-2.00 higher, over 700 lbs 1.00-2.00 lower. Steer and heifer calves are trading 1.00-5.00 higher. Quality average to attractive. Demand moderate to good. Trade active with buyers particularly aggressive on calves over 500 lbs. Buyers remain optimistic despite recent volatility in the futures market. Weather unseasonably warm and very dry over the weekend, however some much needed rainfall is in the forecast for much of the state. Feeder supply included 60 percent Steers, 0 percent Holstein Steers, 39 percent Heifers, and 1 percent Bulls. Feeder Supply over 600 lbs was 75 percent.
