Feeder Cattle Auction Report for 01/30/2017

   Actual Receipts: 10,581     Last Week: 12,264    Year ago: 9,128

   Compared to last week: Feeder steers and heifers 4.00-7.00 lower. Steer and heifer calves mostly 4.00-8.00 lower, with instances of 13.00 lower on heifer calves. Demand moderate to good. Quality average to attractive. Cattle futures sharply lower today, partially in response to last Fridays bearish Cattle on Feed report. In addition, those heavy December placements coupled with large numbers in January has feedyard pen space diminishing. Feeder supply included 61 percent Steers, 0 percent Holstein Steers, 36 percent Heifers, and 2 percent Bulls. Feeder Supply over 600 lbs was 63 percent.
