Feeder Cattle Auction Report for 2/1/2017

Receipts: 9,772    Week ago:    10,829    Year ago: 5,544

Compared to last week: Feeder steers and heifers sold 3.00-6.00 lower. Steer and heifer calves steady to 6.00 lower. Demand moderate. Quality attractive. Feedlot placements continue to lessen already limited pen holding availability. The Cattle Inventory report being higher than expected remains a factor in purchasing decisions for buyers.
***Beginning 2-28-17 the OKC West Livestock Auction will change it's sale schedule to cows and bulls on Mondays at 10:00 am; calves and stockers on Tuesdays at 9:00 am and feeders on Wednesdays at 9:00 am.*** Feeder supply included 54 percent Steers, 45 percent Heifers, and 1 percent Bulls. Feeder Supply over 600 lbs was 74 percent.
