Feeder Cattle Auction Report for 2/27/2017

Receipts: 6,350    Week ago:    6,906    Year ago: 5,200

Compared to last week, steers under 600 lbs steady, heifers under 600 lbs 1.00 to 2.00 lower, steers and heifers over 600 lbs 1.00 to 3.00 lower. Demand moderate to good, supply moderate. The USDA Cattle On Feed report was what most expected with 101 percent On Feed, Placements at 111 percent and Marketing at 110 percent. Cattle futures closed higher after last Fridays sell-off. Feeder supply included 53 percent Steers, 43 percent Heifers, and 3 percent Bulls. Feeder Supply over 600 lbs was 48 percent.
