Feeder Cattle Auction Report for 3/6/2017

Receipts: 6,997    Week ago:    6,350    Year ago: 5,595

Compared to last week, steers under 600 lbs steady, 600 to 800 lbs 2.00 to 4.00 higher, over 800 lbs steady to 2.00 higher, heifer calves and yearling heifers steady to 3.00 higher.   Demand moderate to mostly good, supply moderate. Producers hoping for some rain as the next storm moves across the trade area. The dry winter has been good for man and beast, but moisture will be needed for grain and forage crops. Feeder supply included 57 percent Steers, 1 percent Holstein Steers, 38 percent Heifers, and 4 percent Bulls. Feeder Supply over 600 lbs was 56 percent.
