Bree Taylor of Kingfisher Shows Grand Champion Market Goat at 2017 OYE

The 2017 Oklahoma Youth Expo Wether Goat Show had 681 animals that competed for a top placing and a chance to make the Friday afternoon Sale of Champions. Thirty one goats will be sold on Friday, with young people from Hartshorne to Hooker being given the chance to sell their goat in the premium auction. On Thursday evening, the four goats that topped the four divisions were reviewed by judge Chad Coburn, who declared the goat that won Division Three as the best of the show, giving Bree Taylor of Kingfisher FFA a Grand Championship in 2017, after winning Division Three in 2016 but not winning Grand or Reserve a year ago.

Taylor is a sophomore at Kingfisher High and told Radio Oklahoma Ag Network Farm Director Ron Hays that her goat is named JJ and came from Pfeifer Farms. This is her eighth year showing goats and this will be her fifth year placing a goat into the Sale of Champions.

You can hear Bree and Ron talk goats by clicking on the LISTEN BAR at the bottom of the story.
