Feeder Cattle Auction Report for 3/27/2017

Receipts: 6,104    Week ago:    6,545    Year ago: 4,147


Compared to last week: Feeder steers and heifers 2.00-5.00 higher. Steer and heifer calves mostly steady on offerings. Quality average to attractive. Demand remains good, specifically for heavy weight feeders that incur less feed expense. Feed yards have become more optimistic since the beginning of the year with the latest market conditions adding to their bottom lines. Feeder supply included 62 percent Steers, 0 percent Holstein Steers, 37 percent Heifers, and 1 percent Bulls. Feeder Supply over 600 lbs was 72 percent.
