OKC West Calf Trade Mixed on Tuesday- Lighter Weight Calves Weaker- Over Five Hundred Pounds Higher

Feeder Cattle Auction Report for 4/18/2017

The following is the report for the Tuesday sales at OKC West in El Reno- focusing on the calf trade. The Wednesday sale will focus on yearlings.


Compared to last Tuesday: Steer and heifer calves under 500 lbs weak to 2.00 lower on limited offering; over 500 lbs 2.00-4.00 higher. Demand remains moderate to good for all classes. Quality mostly plain to attractive. Recent rainfalls and warmer temperatures are helping summer grazing pastures green up. Feeder supply included 52 percent Steers, 45 percent Heifers, and 3 percent Bulls. Feeder Supply over 600 lbs was 22 percent.
