Superior Livestock Auction's Gulf Coast Classic Yields Impressive Results on the Road

Mon, 24 Apr 2017 16:49:34 CDT

Superior Livestock Auction’s Gulf Coast Classic Yields Impressive Results on the Road Superior Livestock Auction hit the road to Natchitoches, Louisiana for their Gulf Coast Classic Auction broadcast live from the Natchitoches Events Center. Cattle producers offered an impressive 49,500 head of calves, yearlings and breeding stock from 22 states for this auction. Superior Livestock went live at 7:30am CT with Superior Sunrise and the auction followed at 8am CT. The Gulf Coast Classic was broadcast live on DISH channel 232 and streamed on Superior Livestock Auction's Click To Bid website. This auction featured a notable offering of calves from Louisiana, Florida and the Gulf Coast. The market has seen higher volumes traded as consignors are looking to take advantage of the current market trend, higher prices and a discounted futures market. This was also evident in Superior's Gulf Coast Classic offering with a high percentage rate of cattle sold and another week of an upward trending market recap.

Yearling steers that were 850 lbs and less saw an increase of $4-5; while yearling steers that were higher than 850 lbs saw an increase of $5 to 7. The yearling heifers across the board were $4-6 higher than Superior's last offering. Weaned steer calves were steady to $7 more while the calves on cows saw another substantial increase and were $10-12 more.

Join Superior Livestock for their next offering, the May 4th Video Auction back in Fort Worth, Texas. Not only is 2017 Superior Livestock Auction's 30th year but it is also bringing some changes; in 2017 all regular bi-monthly video auctions will move to Thursdays to help better address the needs of Superior's increasing seller and buyer base. Superior Livestock's newest online timed auction format, Country Page Countdown, will host their next offering April 27th on superiorclicktobid.com. For more information please visit www.superiorlivestock.com.

For a buyers' number or more information on becoming a consigner please call our Fort Worth office at 800-422-2117.
