Feeder Cattle Auction Report for 04/24/2017

   Actual Receipts: 9,053     Last Week: 5,699    Year ago: 8,416

   Compared to last week: Feeder steers and heifers are trading mostly 1.00-3.00 higher with instances of 5.00 higher. Steer and heifer calves selling steady to 5.00 higher on limited comparable offerings. Demand remains good for feeder cattle, despite lower CME futures and a more than expected placements total number on Friday's COF report. Quality mostly average. Feeder supply included 61 percent Steers, 0 percent Holstein Steers, 38 percent Heifers, and 1 percent Bulls. Feeder Supply over 600 lbs was 83 percent.
