Feeder Cattle Auction Report for 4/25-26/2017

Compared to last week: Feeder steers sold 2.00-4.00 higher. Feeder Heifers traded 3.00-8.00 higher with most advances being seen on 700-800 lb heifers. Sharp inclines on both the CME Live and Feeder Cattle contracts sparked buyers attention today. Due to the majority lack of higher grade steer and heifer calves there is no trend available; however, a higher undertone was noted. Demand remains good to very good for all classes. Quality plain to attractive. Feeder supply included 60 percent Steers, 39 percent Heifers, and 1 percent Bulls. Feeder Supply over 600 lbs was 89 percent.
