Feeder Cattle Weighted Average Report for 5/9-10/2017

    *** Final report for the week of 5/9-10/17 *** Compared to last week:
Feeder steers 600-750 lbs traded 1.00-2.00 lower, heavier weights 3.00-6.00 lower with exception of over 1000 lb cattle fully steady. Feeder heifers sold 4.00-8.00 lower. Steer and heifer calves sold mostly steady to 3.00 lower. Warmer temperatures and drier weather early in the week has allowed for producers to transport livestock. Despite sharp declines on both the CME Live and Feeder cattle contracts on Tuesday demand remained moderate to good. Quality average to attractive. Feeder supply included 62 percent Steers, 1 percent Holstein Steers, 38 percent Heifers, and 0 percent Bulls. Feeder Supply over 600 lbs was 88 percent.
