OK Cattlemen's Foundation Awards Amanda Upton of Pauls Valley Prestigious Guy Shull Scholarship

Amanda Upton of Pauls Valley, Okla. was awarded the prestigious $1,000 Guy Shull Memorial scholarship during the recent Oklahoma Cattlemen's Association (OCA) Convention and Trade Show. The Guy Shull Scholarship is funded by the Oklahoma Cattlemen's Foundation (OCF), a charitable arm of the OCA.
Upton is a Sophomore at Oklahoma State University and has a double major in Animal Science and Agriculture Economics. During the short time she's spent at OSU, she's excelled! Some of her accomplishments include: OSU Top Twenty Freshman Woman and OSU Honors College. She's also involved in many organizations including the OSU Student Foundation and OSU Student Government Association among many others.
Upton grew up around agriculture. She was active in her local FFA Chapter and recently obtained her American FFA Degree.
"It's truly an honor to present young people, like Amanda, who have an interest in the beef industry with scholarships to assist in furthering their education," said Jeff Jaronek, OCF Coordinator.
The Oklahoma Cattlemen's Foundation was created to provide a charitable trust for the Oklahoma Cattlemen's Association and Oklahoma Junior Cattlemen's Association. When you support the Oklahoma Cattlemen's Foundation, you support beef cattle educational programs, research projects in cooperation with Oklahoma State University, educational scholarships for Oklahoma's 4-H and FFA youth and the preservation of the Oklahoma beef cattle industry and its traditions.
