Feeder Cattle Auction Report for 9/11/2017

   Compared to two weeks ago: Feeder steers and heifers trading mostly 2.00-6.00 higher. Steer and heifer calves lightly tested but a much higher undertone is noted as evidenced by instances of 7.00 higher on heavier calves. Demand good, quality mostly plain with a few attractive. Trade active. Recent moisture and cooler weather have allowed producers in the area to hold on to cattle and wait for market conditions to adapt before selling their cattle. Feeder cattle supply included 62 percent Steers, 0 percent Dairy Steers, 35 percent Heifers, and 2 percent Bulls. Feeder cattle supply over 600 lbs was 71 percent.
