Feeder Cattle Auction Report for 11/20/2017

Compared to last week, steer and heifer calves steady to 3.00 lower, yearlings 3.00 to 6.00 lower. Demand moderate, supply heavy. A good offering of yearling cattle along with the calves. Live Cattle and Feeder Cattle futures continued their downward trend, closing sharply lower. The USDA Cattle On Feed report showed 106 percent On Feed, 110 percent Placements, and 106 percent Marketed. Placements again exceeded what most analyst reported. Feeder cattle supply included 59 percent Steers, 1 percent Dairy Steers, 36 percent Heifers, and 5 percent Bulls. Feeder cattle supply over 600 lbs was 69 percent.
