P&K Equipment Honors Local First Responders with "Gear 'Em Up Giveaway"

Fri, 29 Mar 2019 15:55:04 CDT

P&K Equipment Honors Local First Responders with In conjunction with the upcoming wildfire season, P&K Equipment is recognizing the hard work and sacrifice of firefighters in Oklahoma and Arkansas. P&K collected nominations for the Gear ‘Em Up Gratitude Giveaway, and the Wayne Volunteer Fire Department has been chosen as one of five winning departments across the two states.

The department in Wayne—and each of the other winning departments—will receive a STIHL equipment package valued at more than $1,300. Each package includes a STIHL MS 261 Chainsaw, a STIHL BR 800 C-E Backpack Blower, four gallons of STIHL MotoMix premixed fuel, and free chain sharpening at any P&K Equipment location.

The Wayne Volunteer Fire Department received several nominations praising their hard work and dedication to the job and the community. “Those guys & girls on the Wayne Fire Department are not only the best firefighters and first responders—they go out of their way to do everything they can for the community,” one nomination read.

Another nomination read, “Wayne Fire Department is a total volunteer fire department, which means that all these firefighters have regular jobs, too. They run this department like any other fire department that has paid firefighters. They’re always at the scene as fast as possible, always taking classes to learn all they can and to re-certify themselves, cleaning the fire house and trucks on weekends, and always giving back to the community. These are some amazing and dedicated individuals, and they are so deserving of this giveaway.”

The P&K team will present the STIHL equipment package to members of the Wayne Department, including Chief Scott Thrash and Assistant Chief Sara Kennedy, on March 28, 2019, at 4:30 pm at the Wayne Fire Station, located at 30343 State Highway 59.

For over thirty years, P&K’s history has been enriched by our local communities—these places we call home,” says Scott Eisenhauer, P&K General Manager. “The ‘Gear ‘Em Up Giveaway for First Responders’ is our chance to say thank you to our local firefighters. As they protect our homes, our businesses, and our ways of life this wildfire season, P&K Equipment looks forward to the opportunity to recognize their dedication and award five deserving departments with new STIHL equipment.”
