Compared to last week: Steer and heifer calves 2.00-5.00 lower, except 5
weight heifers mostly steady. Demand mostly moderate to good. Rain showers
are expected to move in this evening and this along with 2 days of cattle
futures trading in the red, is limiting demand for calves. Quality mostly
average but conditions attractive with several light fleshed and or gaunt
cattle available. Several large strings of feeder cattle expected for the sale
on Wednesday. Feeder cattle supply included 43 percent Steers, 54 percent
Heifers, and 3 percent Bulls. Feeder cattle supply over 600 lbs was 23
percent.
