Senate Pro Tem Greg Treat of Oklahoma City Wins the 2019 Oklahoma Youth Expo Legislative/Celebrity Showmanship
Wed, 20 Mar 2019 06:20:30 CDT
Tuesday night was a great night at the 2019 Oklahoma Youth Expo as about one hundred state lawmakers, along with 25 celebrities, came and spent time learning the ins and outs of showing a calf, hog, lamb or a goat from one of the 4-H or FFA members involved with the show. Tyler Norvell, Executive Director of the OYE, says the Legislative event has grown and grown- starting with a dozen lawmakers just a few years ago to last night when a majority of the state legislature made time to be a part of the evening.
Each lawmaker and other dignitaries and supporters of the young people were matched up with a 4-H or FFA member and competed in one of the four classes of livestock. For the lawmakers, it was them being matched up with a youth from their home district when possible.
Winning the friendly competition of the evening was the Oklahoma Senate Pro Tem, Senator Greg Treat of Northwest Oklahoma City (Pictured here). Also winning one of the divisons was US Senator James Lankford and Oklahoma House Ag Committee Chairman Del Kerbs.
From the hog ring to the goats, sheep and beef cattle lineups- we snapped shots of many of the lawmakers and others in attendance. We have created a special album of the OYE Legislative Night- go and look by clicking here. The pictures of Tuesday night are also a part of the full 2019 OYE Album of Photos found on Flickr.
