Wed, 22 May 2019 16:30:46 CDT
Noble Research Institute will host a How Plants and Animals Respond to Grazing seminar from 8:30 a.m. to noon June 4, 2019, at the Noble Research Institute Kruse Auditorium.
Attendees will learn how plant type and availability, stage of growth, animal preferences, livestock age and physiological condition, stock density, duration of grazing and recovery, and management all play roles in the responses of both plants and animals to grazing.
Topics will include:
- How grasses and forbs grow, and why this is important to your operation.
- How plants respond to being grazed.
- Livestock grazing preferences and performance in response to grazing management.
Participants will have the opportunity to visit the Noble Research Institute grazing paddocks to discuss grazing management with the consultants in the field. Weather-appropriate attire is encouraged if participants choose to go out in the field.
Producers interested in applying the basic concepts of grazing management are encouraged to attend.
There is no registration fee, but preregistration is required. For more information and to register, please visit www.noble.org/events. Registration will close May 27, 2019.
