Southern Plains Range Research Station to Host Field Day for Cattle Producers Tuesday, September 24th

The USDA-ARS, Southern Plains Range Research Station along with the OSU Extension Service will host a field day for cattle producers at the Experimental Range near Ft. Supply, OK on Tuesday, September 24th, 2019 between 9:00 a.m. - 3:30 p.m.
Registration will begin at 9:00 a.m. the morning of the event, followed by the first session of speaker presentations covering a variety of topics including information on various climate extremes expected in the Great Plains, an introduction to the USDA-ARS Beef Grand Challenge and an explanation of how to use wheat pasture effectively in a cow/calf enterprise.
Lunch will be provided prior to a second session of speaker demonstrations presented around various locations at the research station. During this session, attendees will learn about range management, supplementing cattle nutrition with distiller's drains and new technologies being used to measure beef cattle efficiency among other topics.
The field day is free to attend. Those interested are simply asked to RSVP by September 18th.
