TCFA Reports Cash Sales in Texas-Oklahoma- New Mexico Feedlots Were $2 Higher Than a Week Ago

Cash cattle sales in the Texas, Oklahoma and New Mexico Feedlots were $2 higher for the week ending December 27th- according to the Texas Cattle Feeders Association.
Finished Steers and Heifers both traded $122 per hundredweight, with 6,578 cattle sold in the cash trade. Another 48,538 were sold under formula, for total sales for the week of 55,116. That compared to 54,120 a week ago and 53,519 a year ago.
Average live weight of cattle slaughtered in Panhandle area plants last week was 1344 lbs. (39% heifers) compared with the previous week of 1349 lbs. (39% heifers) and a year ago 1321 lbs. (42% heifers).
