Superior Livestock Auction Recaps their January 23rd Video Auction Along with their Top Selling Lots

Superior Livestock Auction hosted their January 23rd Video Auction live from their studio in the Historic Fort Worth Stockyards. Cattle producers offered 28,070 head of calves, yearlings and breeding stock from 23 states for this auction. Cattle were sold on contract to deliver immediately through the end of August 2020. Superior Livestock went live at 7:30am CT with Superior Sunrise and the auction followed at 8am CT. This January 23rd Video Auction was broadcast on the SLA-TV and streamed on Superior Livestock Auction's Click To Bid website. With our country in internal turmoil, trade agreements hanging in the balance and plummeting energy prices all have left a bearish market report.
Feedlots are filling up and showed in the test of the feeder market, compared to Superior's last offering, regions 3/4/5/6 feeder steers and heifers selling on future contracts were $3 lower to steady while those selling on immediate delivery were selling $3 to $6 lower. Region 1/2 feeder steer and heifer buyers were bidding cautiously with most moving at $3 to $5 lower. Region 1/2 weaned calves were selling steady and region 3/4/5/6 weaned calves also saw a strong demand for those in grazing condition.
