The Following is a special message to Oklahoma Cattle Association members and the Oklahoma cattle industry from OCA:
OCA Members,
After consulting OCA President Mike Weeks and to be in compliance with the most recent (yesterday) Governor's Executive Order and to protect our staff, the OCA office will be closed to the public beginning tonight, Wednesday, March 25, 2020, at 11:59 pm.
What does this mean?
- The office will be officially closed to the public but OCA staff are accessible and will remain working.
- Brand renewals will continue and Cassie can be reached via email or phone.
- OCA members will still receive the Oklahoma Cowman as usual as well as regularly scheduled communication from OCA staff.
It is very important to note that agriculture production is deemed critical infrastructure or essential business by both the Homeland Security Administration and the State of Oklahoma. Your work to keep sending food to America's table is vitally important and OCA will continue to work hard to maintain and protect that critical designation. While your Association's office space may not be deemed critical, the work you do every day is and OCA will work diligently every day to protect and promote our great beef industry.
I want to be very clear-.OCA staff will continue to work hard every day for our members and the Oklahoma beef industry. We have received and continue to receive many phone calls from members answering questions and providing information. We will continue doing that. We are also very active in ongoing relief efforts both on the state and federal levels. We will continue doing that.
We continue to move forward planning a great OJCA Preview Show, a stellar Annual Convention and the best ever Ranch Rodeo as we move through 2020. We also continue to stay engaged with the Legislature and remain ready to go once they reconvene.
Thank you for your patience and hard work during this critical time. We appreciate you and it is an honor to work for you.
If you have an questions or need any assistance, please don't hesitate to contact any OCA staff member.
Sincerely,
Michael Kelsey
Executive Vice President
