Superior Livestock's Final Sale of April Unevenly Steady on Yearlings- Steady to Higher on Calves
Mon, 04 May 2020 05:36:44 CDTSuperior Livestock Auction hosted their April 30th Video Auction live from the Superior Livestock Studio in Fort Worth, TX. Cattle producers offered 32,640 head of calves, yearlings and breeding stock from 26 states for this auction. Cattle were sold on contract to deliver immediately through the end of September 2020. Superior Livestock went live at 7:30am CT with Superior Sunrise and the auction followed at 8am CT. This March 19th Video Auction was broadcast on SLA-TV, Dish Network Ch. 997 and streamed on Superior Livestock Auction's Click To Bid website. As market conditions continue to be unpredictable there are still many outside influences having ripple effects throughout the industry; despite all these circumstances Superior Livestock delivered an upwardly trending market recap for the April 30th Video Auction.
Compared to Superior's last test of the market feeder steers & heifers from all regions were unevenly steady with demand and seller interest remaining light to moderate. Southeastern calves were steady to $3 higher on a moderate offering. South Central Plains unweaned calves were lightly tested during this offering but remained steady. Compared to Superior's last offering weaned calves were unevenly steady with a higher undertone. Just as seen two weeks ago, Thursday's market proved to be a testimony to Superior's value-added programs as calves that were marketed on various programs remained steady giving them premiums as much as $20 to $30 over their non-program contemporaries.
