OSU's Kim Anderson Talks about Hitting the Bottom on Wheat Prices on this Weeks SUNUP

Thu, 13 Aug 2020 16:05:01 CDT

OSU's Kim Anderson Talks about Hitting the Bottom on Wheat Prices on this Weeks SUNUP Oklahoma State University Extension Grains Market Analyst Dr. Kim Anderson talks about what is going on in the Wheat Markets weekly on SUNUP.

The August WASDE report came out this week and there were some big numbers in that report. Dr. Anderson says the report looks negative for beans, and wheat, but positive for corn, "If you look at wheat, its really negative for wheat. It came in at 1.044 billion bushels, about a hundred million bushels above expectations. I think that is going to be negative for U.S. Wheat Prices." As for hitting the bottom for wheat prices soon, Anderson says he thinks wheat prices are relatively close, "The big uncertainty right now, is Australia, they're looking at a about a 400 million bushel increase in crop about 550 to over 900 million bushels. We'll see if they could get that crop in the bin, but I think that's already in the price. We should be near the bottom for wheat prices, and maybe pick up just a little rally."
