Oklahoma Hay Report for Week of September 3, 2020
Wed, 09 Sep 2020 11:50:07 CDT
The latest Oklahoma Hay report Compared to two weeks ago: All classes of hay trade continues to be extremely slow due to recent heavy rains and cooler than average temperatures having producers hoping and preparing for a second cutting of Bermuda grass later this Fall. Alfalfa trade also has been extremely slow and getting cheaper as many dairies continue to look for alternative feed stuffs. Stock cow producers are hoping the cooler and wetter weather will extend grazing into the Fall leaving less need to start stock piling hay . Temperatures are unseasonably cool, forecast has the next week in mostly upper 70's and many nights in the 40's. Demand mostly light. Please note that until hay trade becomes more active this report will become bi-weekly
