Ag in the Classroom with a New Professional Development Opportunity!
Wed, 21 Oct 2020 09:45:43 CDT
Oklahoma Ag in the Classroom is very excited to start promoting and teaching 6th-12th grade educators (in Oklahoma) about using Journey 2050 in their classrooms.
As described by the Journey 2050 website, "Journey 2050 takes students on a virtual farm simulation that explores world food sustainability. Using an inquiry based approach the program encourages students to make decisions and adjust them as they see their impact on society, the environment and the economy at a local and global scale. The students hear from farmers across the globe.
As the student interacts with each family they learn the role of best management practices in feeding the world, reducing environmental impacts and in improving social performance through greater access to education, medical care and community infrastructure."
Please join us to learn more about the Journey 2050 program, the lesson plans that go along with the game, and our BRAND NEW kits that will be available for checkout FOR FREE by educators to complete lessons with their students. Each session will be on Zoom and will last from 4:30 pm to 6:00 pm. All sessions are the same, so you will not need to sign up for more than one. You will receive the Zoom session link 1-2 days before the session.
**If you attend one of our Journey 2050 training sessions over Zoom, you will be at the top of the list to be able to check out one of our FREE Kits for your classroom AND you will also receive our BRAND NEW Ag Career-opoly game to keep!!
