Oklahoma Pork Council Teacher Holiday
Mon, 02 Nov 2020 07:50:33 CST
2020. A year full of curveballs. A global pandemic, murder hornets, devastating wildfires, and now, an Oklahoma ice storm in the middle of October.
In the midst of the chaos, Oklahoma's teachers and educators have adapted, providing alternatives to teaching students what they need to know.
"We recognize how difficult it has been for teachers, not only in the classroom, but also being prepared to go virtual at the drop of a hat," said Roy Lee Lindsey, Oklahoma Pork Council executive director. "With all the uncertainty today, we want to show our appreciation for maintaining some kind of normalcy for the children of Oklahoma."
In an effort to say "thank you" to Oklahoma teachers, okPORK has launched a teacher recognition program to help spread the holiday cheer by sending 50 Oklahoma teachers a $100 okPORK gift card, which can be used at any retailer.
You can nominate your favorite teacher to receive a gift card at okpork.org/teacherholiday. Nominations will be open until Friday, November 13, and gift cards will be mailed out prior to Thanksgiving.
The Oklahoma Pork Council, a farmer-led organization, represents the interests of all Oklahoma pig farmers. Partially funded by federally collected checkoff dollars, okPORK promotes pork and pork products, funds research, and educates consumers and producers about the pork industry. For more information about this or any other programs of okPORK visit www.okpork.org or call 405.232.3781.
