The Oklahoma Wheat Commission has reported that After almost a year long process, Governor Kevin Stitt and Lt. Governor Matt Pinnell were presented their awards from the first annual Governors Wheat Challenge.
Governor Stitt chose the Smithís Gold variety and Lt governor Pinnell had Bakerís Ann.
After tallying the individual sections in a very close competition, the Governor's pick of Smithís Gold took home the overall prize.
The Oklahoma Wheat Commission is proud to partner with the Oklahoma Department of Agriculture and Oklahoma State Ferguson College of Agriculture to provide research, education and a bit of healthy competition to the wheat producers and consumers of Oklahoma.
