Biden Adds to his Nominee List including Deputies at USDA and EPA

President-elect Joe Biden announced sub-cabinet positions today, including Deputy Ag Secretary nominee Jewell Bronaugh. Bronaugh currently serves as the commissioner of the Virginia Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services. She's been a former State Executive Director for the Farm Service Agency and a 4-H Extension Specialist. Bronaugh would be the first woman of color to serve in this role at USDA.
Janet McCabe has been nominated by Biden to be the deputy administrator of the Environmental Protection Agency. McCabe is now a professor at Indiana University McKinney School of Law. McCabe previously worked at the EPA during the Obama administration.
Blayne Arthur, Secretary of Agriculture gave the following statement, "I was pleased to see my friend, Commissioner Jewel Bronaugh, nominated to serve as the new Deputy Secretary of USDA. Commissioner Bronaugh is a leader who understands agriculture, the land grant mission and is passionate about involving youth in agriculture. The Oklahoma Department of Agriculture, Food and Forestry looks forward to working with her in her new capacity and I know that she will be a strong voice for agriculture producers. "
