Thu, 11 Mar 2021 07:45:39 CST

Missouri Corn Growers Share Priorities, Recognize Partners Corn farmers and industry representatives joined the Missouri Corn board of directors virtually today for the Missouri Corn Growers Association (MCGA) annual meeting.

During the business portion of the meeting, members reviewed financials, heard from industry partners, and elected five board members: Dylan Rosier of Mound City to represent District 1 in northwest Missouri; Adam Casner of Carrollton in District 2 representing the northcentral region; Jay Schutte of Benton City to represent northeast Missouri growers in District 3; Greg Bertz of Mayview to represent District 4 in southwest Missouri; and Dan Kuenzel of Washington to represent District 6 in the east-central region.

“No matter what obstacles come our way, I like to think as farmers, we are eternal optimists,” said MCGA President Jay Fischer. “The road may be bumpy, but there is always light at the end of the tunnel. Whatever challenges arise, you can bet Missouri Corn will continue to work on your behalf.”

Members also took the opportunity to honor grower-leaders and retiring CEO Gary Marshall for their work on behalf of corn farmers. Award recipients included:

President’s Award
Mark Scott, Wentzville

Honorary Lifetime Award
Mike Moreland, Harrisonville
Greg Schneider, Warrenton

Years of Service
Kyle Kirby, Liberal
Greg Schneider
Gary Marshall, Jefferson City

“As I prepare to step down from my position and enjoy what I hope is many years in retirement, please know your association is powerful, engaged, and good at what we do,’” noted Marshall. “You have a professional, well-balanced staff and incoming CEO, and a board with a vision for success. It’s been an honor and a privilege serving growers.”

MCGA is a membership organization of farmers dedicated to growing and defending the corn industry. The association works in the farmers' best interest on key agricultural issues and fights for pro-agriculture, pro-corn legislation.
