Governor Kevin Stitt Proclaims March 21-26 Eat Meat Week in Oklahoma

Oklahoma Governor Kevin Stitt has proclaimed the week of March 21st through the 26th "Eat Meat Week" in the state of Oklahoma. Oklahoma State Secertary of Agriculture Blayne Arthur shared the Proclamation just before the start of the Oklahoma Youth Expo Sale of Champions to a rousing round of applause.

AND- here is the text of the Proclamation:
"Whereas, the production of beef, pork and poultry in Oklahoma contributes $18 billion annually to the state's economy and
"Whereas, animal agriculture and the direct care of livestock is a meaningful way of life to more than 110,000 Oklahomans and
"Whereas, the health benefits of eating lean meat and poultry have been proven, with research showing that lean beef as a part of a heart healthy dietary pattern can help maintain normal cholesterol levels and
"Whereas, the pork sirloin roast joins the pork tenderloin with the designation as an extra lean cut of meat certified by the Heart Check Food Certification and
"Whereas, chicken provides vital nutrients such as potassium, magnesium, choline, vitamin B-12and iron and
"Whereas, the Oklahomans involved in producing beef, pork and chicken have a proven track record of sustainability and caring for our state's natural resources and
"Now Therefore, I Governor J Kevin Stitt do hereby proclaim March 21-26, 2021 as "Eat Meat Week" in the State of Oklahoma."
