Oklahoma Cattlemen's Association Seeking Cattleman of the Year Nominations

Wed, 24 Mar 2021 09:42:42 CDT

Oklahoma Cattlemen's Association Seeking Cattleman of the Year Nominations The Oklahoma Cattlemen's Association (OCA) is seeking nominations for the Cattleman of the Year award. Established in 1990, the Cattleman of the Year award is the highest honor that the OCA bestows upon a member and was designed to recognize OCA members who have made significant contributions to the OCA and to the Oklahoma beef industry.

"The Cattleman of the Year award is unique because the recipient is nominated by their peers," said Mike Weeks, OCA President.

The award is presented annually during the OCA Convention and Trade Show.

"It's an OCA tradition to keep the Cattleman of the Year recipient undisclosed until the end of the annual awards banquet held at the close of OCA Convention each year," Weeks said. "Typically, several family members show up at the awards presentation to celebrate, which makes it even more meaningful for the recipient."

The 2021 OCA Convention and Trade Show will take place July 23 and 24, 2021 at the Embassy Suites & Convention Center, Norman, Okla.

Nominations are due May 1, 2021. The nomination form can be accessed at okcattlemen.org. The link is located on the quick links menu. A complete listing of past recipients can be found at okcattlemen.org also. This award is not designed to honor individuals posthumously.

The OCA is the trusted voice of the Oklahoma Cattle Industry and works to protect and empower Oklahoma cattlemen today, to serve tomorrow. OCA is the only voice that speaks solely for the cattlemen of Oklahoma and represents beef producers in all 77 counties across the state. The OCA officers, board of directors and membership encourages you to join us in our advocacy efforts to ensure less government intervention, lower taxes and a better bottom line. For more information about OCA membership, the theft reward program or activities call 405-235-4391 or visit www.okcattlemen.org
