Strategies for Selecting a Herd Bull Webinar

Purdue Extension invites any beef cattle producer interested in gaining insight related to strategies for selecting a herd bull to participate in a free webinar featuring Dr. Darrh Bullock, University of Kentucky Beef Cattle Breeding and Genetics Specialist on Thursday, April 8, 2021 beginning at 6:30 pm. Dr. Bullock will cover considerations a producer should take into account when selecting a bull that should complement one's cow herd, farm resources and management.
He will also discuss why utilizing a crossbreeding program may be beneficial for some operations, plus will include how to use EPD's in selecting the right bull for your herd. But that's not all-Dr. Bullock is also planning to include a bull selection exercise with program participants that allows the use of real life scenarios to make management decisions during the program that allows for live expert feedback.
