OKC Farm Show Starts Three-Day Run Thursday at OKC Fairgrounds
Tue, 13 Apr 2021 14:20:02 CDT
The Oklahoma City Farm Show is here! Following closely on the heels of the Tulsa Farm Show (moved from December to February (2021), the OKC show opens April 15 and runs through Saturday at the Bennet Event Center on the Oklahoma City Fairgrounds.
Anytime you move a show it's not helpful, but we had a great show in Tulsa and now it's a nice feeling to have the OKC show on its original dates, John Riles, president of Midwest Shows, said.
We're adapting to the covid requirements, Riles said, including social distancing and spaced out layout.
The OKC show is one of six events run by Midwest Shows, and Riles said they have had to cancel just one event in Illinois due to covid.
We feel fortunate but it has been a tough year, he said.
Many events can be done virtually but there is nothing like having an actual in-person farm show, he said.
What we do is geared towards having a lot of large equipment to show and other things for people to see, Riles said.
The Bennet Event center is perfect for the event as it provides plenty of room to spread out.
The OKC show focuses heavily on cattle handling equipment as well as farm equipment, he added.
Riles said there has been a strong, positive mood among those attending farm shows this year.
The market for agricultural goods has been strong with good commodity prices so people are optimistic, he said.
All things considered, the people are excited to be getting back to a somewhat normal routine, Riles added.
