Reconnect in Nashville at the 2021 Cattle Industry Convention & NCBA Trade Show

The annual Cattle Industry Convention & NCBA Trade Show brings together cattlemen and women from across the country for education, entertainment and excitement. This year the importance of gathering in person is even more evident after the uncertainties in 2020. It is time to "Tune in to Tennessee" Aug. 10-12, 2021, for a convention filled with activities for the entire family.
Registration and housing for the 2021 Cattle Industry Convention & NCBA Trade show is now open. The annual convention will be held in Nashville, Tenn., and it is recommended attendees register early, as housing fills quickly. Annual meetings of the National Cattlemen's Beef Association (NCBA), the Cattlemen's Beef Board, American National CattleWomen, CattleFax and National Cattlemen's Foundation will also be held at this event.
Country music singer and songwriter, Kix Brooks, will kick off the Opening Session and well-known speakers will share their stories to educate, motivate and inspire. Participants will also work with other industry leaders on both Beef Checkoff and NCBA policy programs, and they will have the opportunity to reconnect in person with thousands of other cattle producers from around the country.
Convention participants will gain insights on market trends during the CattleFax Outlook Seminar, hear a "State of the Industry" update from NCBA leadership, learn about the cattle industry's role in sustainability, and wander through the NCBA Trade Show - the industry's largest, with more than 350 exhibitors on more than seven acres. Attendees will also enjoy entertainment throughout the event, including a NashBash BBQ on Wednesday, Aug. 11 and Cowboy's Night at the Opry on Thursday, Aug. 12.
The convention will be preceded by 28th annual Cattlemen's College, which is famous for stimulating and thought-provoking sessions. This event will begin Monday, Aug. 9, with afternoon sessions followed by an evening reception. It will continue the next day with a morning full of educational sessions, including keynote speaker Dr. Jayson Lusk from Purdue University.
In addition, the National Environmental Stewardship Award winner will be announced at a special reception on Tuesday, Aug. 10, and winners of the Beef Quality Assurance awards will be recognized on Thursday, Aug. 12.
"The convention always brings producers together, but I think it will mean even more this year to see everyone in person," says NCBA President Jerry Bohn of Kansas. "With the variety of educational sessions, demonstrations and social activities, there is something for everyone."
When the 2021 convention was moved from February to August due to COVID-19, it offered opportunities for new activities and provided families the chance to make this a vacation destination. Convention attendees receive discounts on Southwest Airlines and for area activities such as the new SoundWaves Water Park and the Gaylord Resort Spa.
While the 2021 Cattle Industry Convention is being held in person, a virtual option is available for those who can't attend. The CattleCon Remix ticket provides live streaming of all general sessions as well as on-demand options for other educational events.
