Emma Knowles, Arnett, Okla. Wins National Anthem Singing Contest The votes are in and Emma Knowles is the winner of the Oklahoma Cattlemen's Association (OCA) Ranch Rodeo National Anthem Singing Contest. Knowles will sing the National Anthem at the Friday night performance of the OCA Ranch Rodeo on Aug. 20, 2021, 7 p.m., at the Lazy E Arena near Guthrie, Okla.

Knowles, a 16-year-old Junior at Arnett High School, enjoys singing the National Anthem. She was honored to sing at the Class A State Basketball Tournament and twice at the Oklahoma Youth Expo.

"We're excited to feature Emma singing the National Anthem at the very beginning of the Friday night performance. She's a talented young vocalist and we are honored to have her kick things off for us," said Weston Givens, OCA Ranch Rodeo Committee Chair.

Knowles performs in plays and musicals for Onstage in Woodward, Okla. Additionally, she serves as President of the Arnett FFA chapter. She is a member of 4-H and exhibits swine, is a high school cheerleader and plays softball.

When asked about her plans for the future, Knowles says, "When I go to college, I plan to major in performing arts."

Knowles is the daughter of Brandon and Shala Knowles. She has an older brother, Garrett.

The OCA Ranch Rodeo consists of 12 ranch teams of 'real ranch' cowboys that compete in five different events reflecting daily activities from life on the ranch. The competition is fierce, but the cowboys do not take home much more than bumps and bragging rights. They participate with one goal: to support the Children's Hospital Foundation (CHF). The OCA Ranch Rodeo has raised more than $553,000 for CHF since 1997.

The OCA Ranch Rodeo is a two-day event scheduled for Aug. 20 and 21. Performances begin nightly at 7 p.m. and doors open at 5 p.m with shopping inside the trade show. Make plans to join us at the Lazy E Arena. To learn more about the OCA Ranch Rodeo or purchase tickets, visit www.okcattlemen.org.

The OCA is the trusted voice of the Oklahoma Cattle Industry. OCA is the only voice that speaks solely for the cattlemen of Oklahoma and represents beef producers in all 77 counties across the state. The OCA officers, board of directors and membership encourages you to join us in our advocacy efforts to ensure less government intervention, lower taxes and a better bottom line. For more information about OCA membership, the theft reward program or activities call 405-235-4391 or visit www.okcattlemen.org.
