ODAFF to Host Two Unwanted Pesticide Disposal Days in Oct.

Fri, 24 Sep 2021 13:08:26 CDT

ODAFF to Host Two Unwanted Pesticide Disposal Days in Oct. The Oklahoma Department of Agriculture Food and Forestry has scheduled two Unwanted Pesticide Disposal days in October. The UPD program ensures unwanted pesticides are properly disposed of, reducing potential threats to public health and the environment.

Homeowners, farmers, ranchers, commercial applicators and dealers are able to utilize the program. There is no cost for disposal of the first 2,000 pounds of unwanted pesticides (liquid pesticide weighs approximately 10 pounds per gallon). The program does not offer pesticide transport services. Pesticide transportation tips can be found here.

UPD Dates:

8 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Oct. 12, 2021
Blackwell Fairgrounds and Event Center
800 S. Main Street
Blackwell, OK

8 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Oct. 14, 2021
Texas County Fairgrounds
402 N. Sunset Lane
Guymon, OK

Commercial applicators and Dealers are being asked to voluntarily pre-register to ensure the State is fully prepared for the estimated amount of unwanted pesticides being delivered. Homeowners, farmers and ranchers are not required to pre-register.

Unwanted pesticides are unusable as originally intended for various reasons, leftover pesticides, pesticides that are no longer registered in the state of Okla. or pesticides that are no longer identifiable, including pesticides with missing labels.
