Hilliary Communications selected to build fiber internet for 1,900 homes at Fort Sill

Tue, 04 Jan 2022 16:29:09 CST

Hilliary Communications today announced the company was approved to build fiber infrastructure at Fort Sill and will invest $5 million to deliver high-speed internet services to roughly 1,900 homes on the base.

The project will begin in January and is expected to be completed by spring 2023. This project will provide service members and their families with the internet power to stream high-quality content, work remotely and communicate with family and friends across the country and the globe.

"We are honored for the opportunity to deliver high-speed broadband to military members who are serving our country and living in our own community," said Dustin Hilliary, managing partner of Hilliary Communications. "Hilliary Communications is dedicated to improving the quality of life in communities across rural America by providing high-speed internet, and we are pleased to continue pursuing that commitment by installing fiber internet for the thousands of military families housed at Fort Sill."

"In today's world, it's vital that we provide our military members and their families with the high-speed internet they need to connect with loved ones and telework while on base," said Sen. Jim Inhofe, ranking member of Senate Armed Services Committee. "I applaud this undertaking by Hilliary Communications to supply Fort Sill with fast and reliable broadband."

"Hilliary Communications has always maintained a strong reputation as a high-quality telecommunications provider,"said Rep. Tom Cole, OK-04. "I'm proud that a local Oklahoma business has been chosen to deliver these vital services to our military installation."

"Oklahoma is committed to our servicemen and women and their families and to ensuring they have the best care while living in our state," said State Senator John Michael Montgomery. "We are proud to have a local business with Hilliary Communications take care of improving the quality of life for more than 1,900 families stationed at Fort Sill."

"The community of Lawton is united in its desire to take care of our nation's service members stationed at Fort Sill, and I am confident that Hilliary Communications will bring its history of quality and excellence to improve the lives of military families living on base," said Mayor Stan Booker.

Farm Director, KC Sheperd was on hand at the press conference and spoke with Benne Brewer, the AVP of Marketing for Hilliary communications, and he said this is so imporant for families to be able to connect to the internet, "You know whether its homework, or talking to their loved ones overseas, you know its a really big day for us."
