Comark Equity Alliance Gains Two New Cooperative Members

Comark Equity Alliance (CEA) is pleased to welcome two new member-owners to its grain marketing alliance. Farmers Coop Elevator Company, Halstead, KS, and Cooperative Grain & Supply, Hillsboro, KS, voted to transition their grain merchandising, logistics, accounting, and risk management operations to CEA. They officially joined the alliance earlier this month.
"Both cooperatives are strong, and their grain facilities are well maintained," says CEA President & CEO Alan Woodard. "We look forward to working together and leveraging all of our companies' resources and talents to enhance our market position and strengthen the entire group moving forward."
According to Farmers Coop Elevator President Jack Queen, they are excited about this new chapter in the long history of their cooperative. "After carefully considering our options, we believe this is the best way to improve value and benefits, compete in the marketplace, and maintain a strong foundation," Queen says.
Sarah Olson, Cooperative Grain & Supply Board Chairperson says, "CEA is committed to the ongoing success of our members and have already begun providing Cooperative Grain & Supply and the area producers with needed resources, partnerships, and market position necessary to successfully navigate through the changing agricultural landscape."
