Thompson: Process Critical to Farm Bill Success
Tue, 01 Mar 2022 12:39:14 CST
Today, the House Agriculture Committee held a hearing entitled, "A 2022 Review of the Farm Bill: Commodity Group Perspectives on Title 1." After the hearing, Republican Leader Glenn "GT" Thompson issued the following statement:
"Today's hearing was an important step in restoring order to the Farm Bill process. A thorough, title-by-title review of the 2018 Farm Bill is the only way to make sure the 2023 reauthorization accurately reflects the needs of our farmers, ranchers, and producers. Collaboration at the full Committee level is necessary to make sure the voices of rural America are heard. While long overdue, I'm pleased Chairman Scott scheduled this hearing and I am hopeful we can continue the momentum."
