NCGA Women and Mentors Program Accepting Applications Now
Tue, 19 Apr 2022 12:37:13 CDT
Join us for the second class of the NCGA Women and Mentors Program to be held in St. Louis on June 27-28. In addition to networking with other women committed to their success, participants learn how to quiet their inner critic, explore what they can learn from another woman's leadership journey, and develop an action plan for their own mentorship journey. Each participant will leave the retreat with an action plan and mentorship pairing to help each other reach their goals.
In this second year of the program, participation is expanding to include a state, national, and industry staff component creating a support network and a place for these women to discuss issues they face as women in a male-dominated industry.
Members of the new class will be welcomed to ongoing quarterly virtual leadership lunch and learn sessions already underway with the prior year's participants.
Tentative Agenda
Quieting Your Inner Critic: This workshop will arm our leaders with the skills required to lead with power and purpose. Participants will walk away with actionable tips for leading with confidence and authenticity, and ways to combat "imposter syndrome." This workshop will also function as an opportunity for leaders within the industry to share their expertise and experiences.
Leadership Journey Presentation/Discussion: A female leader in the industry will share her journey, followed by Q&A.
Reception/Dinner for attendees to network and socialize.
Breakout A: Making the Most of Your Mentorship Workshop: Attendees will work together to develop skills for maximizing the impact of their mentorship; before, during, and after the formal mentorship period.
Breakout B: How to Make Mentorship Work for You Workshop: This workshop will give the established female leaders and male allies the tools they need to create an effective mentor/mentee relationship that is beneficial to both parties.
The event will end with 45 minutes to an hour of Q&A with facilitators of all sessions.
