Yearlings and Stockers Fetch Higher Bids on Superior Livestock's April 21st Sale

Superior Livestock Auction hosted their April 21st video auction live from the Superior Livestock Auction Studio in Hudson Oaks, Texas. Cattle producers offered over 31,645 head of calves, yearlings, and breeding stock from 25 states for this auction. Cattle were sold on contract to deliver immediately through September 2022. Superior Livestock went live with the auction at 8am CT. The April 21st Video Auction was broadcast on SLA-TV, Dish Network Ch. 997 and streamed on Superior Livestock Auction's Click to Bid website. Welcomed rains and increased cash trade over the week greeted Thursday's offering with a very bullish market recap.
Region 3/4/5/6 Feeder Steers opened the day with prices $4-$6 higher than the last test with the most advance on deferred deliveries. Feeder heifers followed suit being well received at $4-$6 higher. Region 1/2 were in short supply but no doubt on track with higher prices. Beef Dairy Crosses were also in strong demand at $8 to as much as $10 higher. Region 1/2 Weaned Calves were also light tested at higher undertone. Region 6 Calves on Cows for summer and early fall deliveries were also on strong demand marking prices at $10 to $12 higher. Region 3/4/5 Weaned Calves were again in strong demand from those buyers still wanting to fill grazing needs moving out at $6 to $10 higher. Bred stock saw added demand for First Calf Heifer Pairs going to regions that have received moisture.
